Two figures face each other, raising cups in a toast. Between them floats the caduceus of Hermes topped with a lion’s head — a symbol of balanced exchange and the healing power of genuine connection. This is the tarot’s card of true partnership: romantic, professional, or spiritual.

Reversed, the cups tip toward each other unequally. There is imbalance in the relationship — one person giving more, or a misunderstanding breaking the connection.

Upright

Honour the connection. Whether romantic or otherwise, this partnership has genuine depth. Invest in it with intention.

Reversed

Name the imbalance honestly. A partnership can only be restored when both people see it clearly.

The Two of Cups is often called the tarot's 'lovers card' within the minor arcana — the practical, day-to-day expression of genuine mutual feeling.

Check that the connection is genuinely mutual — that both cups are being filled equally.
