The Moon

A full moon (with a face within) shines between two stone towers. A crayfish crawls from a pool, beginning a path that winds between a dog and a wolf — both howling — toward the distant towers. The night is alive with uncertainty. The Moon illuminates just enough to see the path and nothing more. What lurks in the periphery is unclear.

Reversed, the Moon's fog begins to lift. Confusion is resolving; fears are being identified for what they are. Deception — of self or by others — is becoming visible. The dawn is coming.

Upright

Accept that you are moving through a period of uncertainty. Don't make major decisions in the dark. Pay attention to dreams and gut feelings; they know what your rational mind does not — yet.

Reversed

Gently examine what is real versus what fear has fabricated. Welcome the returning light, however disorienting.

The Moon's imagery draws on classical symbolism of Hecate (goddess of the night and crossroads), the three lunar faces (waxing, full, waning), and the evolutionary journey of consciousness from the primordial pool to civilisation. The dog and wolf represent the domestic and wild aspects of the psyche.

Not everything you fear in the dark is real. But some of it is. The Moon asks you to navigate carefully rather than either charging ahead or freezing.
