A figure steals away from a military camp with five swords, glancing back with a sly grin. Two swords remain planted in the ground. He is getting away with something — whether that’s clever strategy or outright theft depends on the context. He hasn’t taken everything; something has been left behind.

Reversed, the deception is uncovered or the deceiver's own conscience breaks the scheme. Things hidden come to light; what was taken must be returned.

Upright

Check whether you're being strategic or simply dishonest. If someone else is the thief, trust your instinct — things are probably not as they appear.

Reversed

Come clean, if it's you. If it's someone else, the revelation is coming. Prepare to deal with what's been hidden.

Seven adds complexity to swords' already-combative energy. In this case, the complexity is moral — the cleverness that skirts honesty, the mental agility that slides past integrity.

Deception always has a cost — to the deceiver most of all. And he's already left two swords behind.
