A bound and blindfolded figure stands surrounded by eight swords stuck in the ground. But she is not tightly bound; the swords don’t touch her; there is open ground behind her. The imprisonment is primarily mental — the belief that escape is impossible when it is, in fact, possible if she turns around.

Reversed, the blindfold slips and the bonds loosen. The mental prison is recognised as self-constructed, and the first steps toward genuine freedom are taken.

Upright

Question the story that you are trapped. The swords are not a cage; they are a thought pattern. Small movements toward the open ground behind you are possible.

Reversed

Take the first small step toward the open ground. Don't wait for all the swords to disappear before you move.

Eight brings the suit close to full expression. In swords, that expression is the mind turned against itself — the facility for thought now imprisoning rather than liberating.

The prison is mostly made of thought. What belief is keeping you in the circle of swords?
